Pain In Skull, Pimple Developing. What Is It?

Hi, My husband has a pain on the left back side of his head or skull that came a couple of months ago and went away after a few days. It has come back. It feels like it can feel when a pimple is coming up...painful but there is no pimple just pain. The pain is all day all nite and in a specific spot on the back of his skull. Any ideas?
