Could Having Chicken Pox In Eyes Effect Eyesight?

Hi. Sorry if this sounds stupid. My daughter is 9 months old has has chicken pox really bad. She has them around her eyes and 1 on her eyelid which she has rubbed and the top has come off. I heard that having chicken pox on your eyes can effect your sight. I was wondering if this is true and if its something i should be concerned about. Also she keeps crying all the time and hasn t been sleeping for the last 2 nights. Could this be due to her chicken pox?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

It will not affect vision in the long run, nothing to worry, stay relaxed. Usually it will not affect the cornea.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
