Numbness in roof of mouth, top of tongue, lower lip. Feeling faint, headache. What could this be?

The roof of my mouth went numb and then the top of my tongue . I could not feel my lower lip either. Felt extremely faint afterward. I had left over pizza from yesterday for supper. Not sure if that caused it. Never had this happen before. The numbness is gone now, but I am left with slight headache and kind of sick feeling. What could this be?

Welcome to the forum.
numbness of palate may results due to stress or anxiety which leads to imbalance between sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system.use a mouthwash, topical steroid ointment and multivitamins, warm saline gargle.
it needs proper evaluation by an ent specialist and dentist.
without examination its difficult to diagnose.
headache has many cuses like migrain, tension headache, sinusitis, eye problem
so better to rule out all these by consulting a doctor

hi and welcome,

Numbess in the palate , tongue and lip may be caused due to some trauma , it may be physical trauma to the oral tissues or chemical trauma by certain food products and the allergies.

This feeling can be psychological due to anxiety factor. left over foods consumption will not have any harmful effects over the oral mucosa.

Headache can be related to physical or mental stress, you can have analgesics to relive the pain .

If the pain doesnt subside with analgesics , you need to consult a physician and get the evaluation done.

i hope this helps ,

take care.

dear friend.

thanks for sharing your concern.

numbness is sometimes caused due to stress and anexity.

but i donot suspect you have numbness due to this.
since you mentioned you have headache and sick feeling that means some infection is there.

i would suggest you to visit physician in this regard.get few routine examinations done to rule out any pathology.
hope this helps.
