Headache, Left Chin And Lip Numbness, Numbness Spreading. Had Anterior Lumbar Fusion. Cure For Symptoms?

i had an anterior lumbar fusion on may 29 and 30th 2013, (39 yr female healthy). they had to do the second half through the back the next day because my bp dropped to 89/58. i had a splitting headache for a week after and left chin and lip numbness. then the numbness went to the entire left side of my head and left side of tongue. now the numbness is back to my left lip, left chin, left tongue.

Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
The headaches could be low pressure headache, due to tear in the dura, during the surgery, through which the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks. The numbness of lips and chin could be due to stretching/compression of the fifth cranial (trigeminal) nerve. You may get an MRI of lower brain and upper cervical spine, if symptoms persist.
