Numbness And Tingling In Tongue, Lips , Chin. Taking Clotrimazole. Had Tongue Cancer In 2004. Suggestions?
I have been having numbness & tingling in my tongue, lips & chin. Only lasts approx. 30 seconds to 1 min. I previously had a left glossectomy due to tongue cancer in 2004. Could this be related? Also, my oral surgeon recently put me on clotrimazole 10 mg for a thrush infection in my mouth. I now have large blisters on my bottom lip.
Is it a reaction to the medication or is it related to the numbness & tingling? Thanks
Hello , You need to have an ENT consultation to get done--- Local oral cavity examination PET scan if required. The numbness and tingling could be because of some nerve irritation due to poor oral hygiene and the infection in mouth. Or it could be because of any previous disease flaring again , and that needs to be ruled out. It can be done by local examination of mouth throat and neck. and by doing a PET scan to see for any disease . There is also a possibility of Herpes a you mention blisters , but that can be ruled out only by examination done by a doctor.
