What Is The Treatment For Throat Pain?

Hi I have been using ghutka from the last 9 years on regular basis. I quit for some months in between and resumed back. Now I have given up this habbit. However I didn t notice any abnormaility in my mouth. I got my self checked by a dentist and he said there is nothing to worry about. But from the last four days I have slight pain in my throat and throat seems bit heavier. Please tell me what should I do?? is it possible for me to get the oral cancer or any other disease. What should I do??

Hi.

Noted your history of eating gutka, stopped it for some months, dentist says okay dental health, but feeling slight pain in throat for the last 4 days and worried about cancer.
Gutka is a known agent that can cause cancer.
But the good news is there is no pain in initial period and you have pain that too slight for the last 4 days only.
Hence the cause is most probably pharyngitis or tonsillitis.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Consult an ENT Surgeon for clinical evaluation, examination and ENT Endoscopy so that you can get the correct diagnosis and thus proper treatment for the cause.
This will also help to rule out any throat cancer,
Do not start gutka again.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
