you should go complete hearing assesment including PTA , SPEACH AUDIOMETRY,SPECIAL AUDIOLOGICAL TEST TO RULE OUT WHICH TYPE OF SENSORY HEARING LOSS IF REQUIRE GO FOR TYMPANOMETRY AND IQ TEST.

I have gone through your query regarding difficulty in understanding spoken words some times for loud & some times for light sounds, you also feel difficulty in conversation on mobile phone also.

Your all above symptoms are clearly indicating that you are having loss of differentiation of heard sound and you can't differentiate phonetically balanced words. This is characterstic of sensorineural deafness . I think your doctor had very correctly adviced you for hearing aid but if you are interested for alternative way of treatment than you may consult your E.N.T. specialist for cochlear implant.
