Can Otosclerosis Be Improved By Calcium Supplements?
I have otosclerosis in both middle ears, had stapectomy in one ear not successful due to my facial nerve dropping to close to put protsesis in and had to get hearing aid, today hearing test shoed my left ear is now bad as my right ,getting hearing aid for that ear. Why if it is calcification of the bone taking more calcium supplments or something cant improve this condion?

Hi, it has nothing to do with increased calcium uptake, this disease has tendency to involve both ears, surgery has best results but in your case since its not possible, hearing aid on one side will be adequate, sodium fluoride orally to slow down the condition but it won't cure the condition...
