Need Treatment For Bleeding & Darkened Nose Due To An Injury
Hi I am the mother of a six year old boy. My son was diagnosed with allergies and since living near a bunch of superfund sites and a current remington gun factory, my son has had bloody noses and darkened bridge of nose appeared. It looks like dark under the skin and it gets lighter and darker, I noticed it is darker as he gets these bloody noses every morning. He also was hit in the nose with a baseball while living it this town a few years ago where both nostrils started bleeding. Recently he has a couple blood vessels cauterized and it seemed to help. I constantly put a humidifier in the room at night which also helps but the darkened portion of his nose is worrisome. In addition, I noticed it follows up onto the forehead also on occasion as if following a vein. What is causing this? How should I treat it? Thanks.
Hi, I understand your concern.. It's quite common in nasal allergies,to develop a coloured and darkened boggy swelling around the eyes as well as over the nose... In addition, you have to check with your doctor whether he has anaphylaxis ( sort of allergy) to pollen or dust etc...Repeated bleeding from nose has to be evaluated with an ENT,I would do an endoscopy and if required CT scan of the sinuses, along with skin prick test to detect allergens. Take care
