My Heart Only Beats 47 Times Per Minute, Should I Be Worried?

My heart only beats 47 times per minute, should I be worried? My dad was recently in hospital from a heart attack. While there I was playing around with a heart monitor. My heart only beats 47 times per minute, I rechecked by counting and it was the same. Is this normal? I heard they were supposed to beat 60-100 times a minute. I m a healthy weight and size. Should I be worried?

Assuming you are well and fit and that the rate is not medication induced this should not be a problem.

Hi,thanks for query.Your heart rate in on lower side. The good part is that you are not having any problem. There could be many reasons for low heart rate,it may be physiological means normal, thyroid problem etc.Do not worry ,you do not need any treatment as long as you are asymtomatic.Still in confusion or anxious, please see your physician.
wishing you good health.
