Mirena IUD Inserted And Having Back Pain. Shooting Sharp Pain In Vagina. Should I Remove The IUD?

I has the mirena IUD inserted 2 weeks ago. Since then, I've been having back pain, flutter like feelings in my lower abdominal area, cravings like I did when I was pregnant, and have been extra sleepy. Now, I'm getting sharp shooting pains in my vagina and anus area. It hurts to sit down.

I saw the doctor last week to have her remove it, but she said all my symptoms were normal and I needed to give it time. She also checked the placement of it and said it was in the correct position.

Please tell me if I should remove the IUD. Thank you.

Hello madam!
intra uterine devices have their pros and conses, the ain you are feeling is common and it is not enough to get rid of. your doctor is right. Hang on to it. Give it some time. You will feel comfortable soon, but remember infections and pelvic inflammatory diseases are commonin IUDs. I hope you have been informed with all the pros and conses of contaceptive methods and i am sure your doctor had selected the best options for you.

Try some antispasmodics like phloroglucinols for pain and dont worry. You are fine and in safe hands
