Mild Cramping, Lower Abdominal Pain While Urinating Before Period. Pelvic Exam, Urine Test Normal. Ovulation Pains?

Hi im Kylie, I get mild cramping two weeks after my period and it also hurts underneath the middle of my lower abdomen when I urinate. It goes after my period then comes back two weeks before again. I've had a pelvic exam and urine taken, they both came back ok. I was wondering if it could be ovulation pains? This has been happening from December last year. Thanks

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

There is a type of pain called mittelschmerz pain.It is basically the medical term for ovulation pain. This pain would occur midway through the cycle which is typically 2 weeks as you mentioned. It generally lasts a few hours to few days but in rare cases may last up to the next period.

You can consider the use of anti inflammatory pain killers such as ibuprofen, cataflam, voltaren, aspirin to help with the pain.
IN addition, if you are not trying to conceive , the oral contraceptive pill which prevents ovulation, would be helpful .

wish you luck
