Suggest Treatment For Abdominal Pain Due To Inflamed Stomach And Duodenum

I have had lower abdominal pain for 1 week. I went to the ER and had a CT with contrast and the doctor stated I had a inflammed stomach with inflammation duodenum bulb. I was told to take Maalox 30 minutes before eating and after I do that, I get more stomach pain about 2 hours after I eat. I can not eat food without feeling lower abdominal pain. My blood work, platelet levels, urine test, pelvic exam were normal. I can not live with this pain every day, Please advise what I should do. I am also diabetic that takes metformin, and takes simvastation for elevated cholesterol. Blood pressure is normal and I am 49 years old.

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
Your concern and query is appreciated, underlying cause of inflammation of GI tract is matter of concern, it may be due to infection, or it may be due to some lesion and according to that treatment being decided, it can be ulcer.
If the pain is sever and continues then it is the surgical condition may requires the surgery, antispasmodic can be tried but it is not the cure so in my opinion you have to see the gastroenterologist. Condition may demands the medical attention, take care.
hope this information helps.
