Long Distance Runner, Pain In Thigh, Hip Joint, Glut Area, Limping While Walking

I am a long distance runner and recently I have pain in the thigh and hip joint while lifting the left leg. Also while descending the foot , I get pain in the glut area. I limp while walking due to this. What should I do?

Excessive exercise can cause degenerative changes in the bones. It can also cause neurological problems manifesting as referred neuralgic pain. I would suggest that you take complete rest from exercise, complete a course of analgesics and a course of neurotropic vitamins.
