Lip Injury After Fall, Done Stitches. Bump And Numbness On Lower Lip. Help

Hi I had a bad fall from my horse and face planted on the arena wooden wall. I managed to rip half my lip off as my teeth went through the bottom lip and part of my chin (1/4 inch). I went to a plastic surgeon on call at accident and emergeny who stitches me back up 17 stitches inside and out. It's been 15 days since the injury and 6 dys since I've had the stitches out. My lower lip 1/2 still has a big bump and is totally numb. Is there anyone who can advise me if I will regain feeling in this lip and if the bump will go down?

As per your query you met with an accident and still been suffering from lump and insensitivity over the lip.
First of all i feel very empathetic to your injury part. Now as per your query it is 15 days since injury. Now according to the stitches given it appears to be quite deep injury. This type of deep injuries where 17 stitches are given takes almost 4- 6 weeks to get better.

Deep tissue injuries especially near lip area are prone to get swelled so the swelling will slowly resole. By the end of 8 weeks you would be quite comfortable of the situation.
