Knee Pain On Left Leg, Sore Calf. Taking Medication. Cure For Symptoms?
I have been having knee pain on my left leg off and on for about three months. I visited my family doctor, and I was told it was inflammation. I was prescribed naproxen. I took it for two weeks. The pain still comes and goes, but my calve is also sour. I feel the pain when I get up after sitting and sometimes when I'm lying down. Once I start walking my pain diminishes. It hurts more when I get up. My doctor told me if after two weeks I still have pain, I would have to come in to get a cortizone shot. I don't want one. I don't think that will cure the problem. Why does my knee and calf hurt?
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The pain in the knee could be due to an inflammatory changes in the knee like arthritis or an injury to the soft tissues in the area. An MRI scan of the knee will help in proper diagnosis. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Praveen Tayal , drtayal72@gmail.com
