Is Urine Infection, Related With Back And Abdominal Pain?

I have lower back and abdominal pain and find it hard to move, it is agony. GP diagnosed urine infection but the first 5 days antibiotics didn't work and I am on second course of antibiotics and no better. Could this really be just a urine infection?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You have to do investigation with urine routine microscopic examination first.

If pus cells and bacteria present than urine culture should be done. Here pyelonephritits should be ruled out by urine examination and USG pelvis and abdomen.

According to cause specific treatment given.

According to culture antibiotic can be prescribed to kill organism specifically and effectively. Consult urologist for examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
