General & Family Physician 's  Response
Welcome to hcm,
Short loss of consciousness in elderly is most commonly due to low blood pressure or low sugar. It is very rare to have epilepsy.the other reasons include cardiac arrhythmias.
Your treating physician must have cheched his ct brain and ECG everything might be normal. So he might have said that epilepsy may be the reason behind it.
Don't worry now if that was the first episode of syncope.
Ask him to take adequate fluids
Have balanced diet
Have a fruit everyday
Relieve stress
Hope this explains
With regards
