Is There Any Treatment For H.pylori Without Using Flagyl?

I have H.Pylori and I m allergic to penicillin (hives). Is there any way to treat this infection WITHOUT using Flagyl (metronidazole). Would I be able to get rid of the infection using clarithromycin, omeprazole, famotidine and a good probiotic? What do you suggest?

Welcome to HCM,

The regimen most commonly recommended for first line treatment of H. pylori is triple therapy with a proton pump inhibitor, amoxicillin (1 g twice daily), and clarithromycin (500 mg twice daily) for 7 to 14 days. We suggest treatment for 10 days to two weeks.

Most of the treatment regimens include a medication called a proton pump inhibitor which decreases the stomach's production of acid.
Two antibiotics are also generally recommended as this reduces the risk of treatment failure and antibiotic resistance.If you are allergic to metronidazole do not use the same combination of antibiotics.

You can use the combination of clarithromycin, omeprazole and famotidine, but there will be risk of antibiotic resistance if we use single antibiotic combination. With the use of probiotics it may help you to control the symptoms.
