Is There Any Home Remedy For Pus Filled Bump On Labia?

I have what looks like a pus filed bump on my, I believe it is called, labia. it s about the size of woman s small finger nail. I have tried medicating it myself by cleansing it every morning and evening with water and Hibiclens and have even put alcohol on that particular area for about the last four to five days and there has been no change in its character or appearance. Is there any home treatment I can do to keep from having to make an office visit to a doctor? .

Hello ma'am and welcome.

The most likelt causes for such a presentation are either friction caused due to activities like sexual intercourse, from clothing, etc; or infections (eg. Herpes).

If it is the former, then the only advise would be to avoid sexual contact and wear loose and comfortable clothing, and may be the application og any over the counter antibiotic ointment. But if it is the latter, then a doctors visit would be mandatory.

As we have no clue about the diagnosis, I would suggest you to either visit a doctor or use our premium service and write back to me, and if you are comfortable even upload a picture of the affected region for a more accurate diagnosis.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
If you mentioned about labia majora, the lesion could be folliculitis or sebaceous cyst etc.
If you mentioned about labia minora, that could be a Bartholin cyst.
If Bartholin cyst gets infected, abscess will form.
So, better to consult gynecologist once and get examined to find out the exact cause of the problem.
And treated can be taken accordingly.
In case of abscess, antibiotics may needed.
Analgesic and anti - inflammatory drugs can help in decreasing pain.
You can try sitz bath at home that can give some relief from pain and inflammation.

Take care.
