Is Swelling Of Legs A Side Effect Of Bisoprolol Fumarate Intake?

I had a heart attack three weeks ago. I am taking bisoprolol fumarate and I have noticed for the past few days that I have leg swelling and pain in my right leg (knee and lower). I think this is a side effect of the blood pressure medication. What should I do?

Hi! I had gone through your question and i understnad your concern .

I would say that bisoprolol in high dose may cause Bradychardia( slow heart rate ) and hypotension. The cause of your swelling legs may be caused of low blood preasure .
I would adise you to measure your blood pressure and your heart rate. Also is very important to know if you have anyother symptoms like;chest pain , dizzines , fainting ,breething problems.
I would say to call your treatingdoctor to check yout heart (do an ECG) , blood pressure . Acording to the examination he will confirm if the leg swelling comes from bisoprolol dosage or something else, meanwhile he will see if you have any need to change the medications or the dosage
Keep your feet under a pillow when you lie down .

Wish you good health .
Ask me if you have any other questions .
