Can Bisoprolol Fumarate Be Discontinued Abruptly?

I was currently taking one hydrochlorothiazide 25mg in the morning. I am also taking bisoprolol fumarate 5mg once daily. The kidney Dr said bp was normal but increased hydrochlorothiazide to to one and an extra half. I also think He mentioned that my bp could possibly go a bit too low. My question is should I take both meds as I was before or should I discontinue bisoprolol, because seems like he might have said go off bisoprolol.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Deleterious effects after abrupt stoppage of antihypertensive are relatively uncommon. But withdrawal syndrome may occur after abrupt termination of antihypertensive medicine. Abrupt discontinuation of bisoprolol can produce sympathetic over-activity that may cause agitation, headache, sweating, nausea and rapid upswing in BP. I suggest you to take proper and clear guidance from your doctor about stopping bisoprolol.
Thanks!!
