Is Severe Abdominal Pain Symptom Of An Abnormal Pregnancy?
hi doctor, i have 6 years history of pcos nd also have very irregular periods also...as per doctors order i was on clomid 100mg..my LMP was on november 13th....i ovulated around second of december....had taken trans vaginal ultrasound on 8th..doctor said i ovulated and my endometrium is slightly hypo echoic...nd told me to wait for a week for pregnancy test....my upt is positive and taken b hcg quantitive test on 15th ,its result is 156iu...doctor taken tvs scan on 17th also....bt couldnt see gestational sac.....i have intermittent sharp pain in my lower abdomen which occur 6 to 8 times in day...but it wnt persist more than 30 seconds.....today given hcg sample again and waiting for its results....can you tel me any possibility for abnormal pragnancy ?

Detection of a gestation sac can be done at 4 weeks, through a trans-vaginal sonogram, but not always. The sonogram must be repeated after another week. Also, since you are having serial titres of hCG, you can know the progress. The pain which you are experiencing could be due to cramps which are observed in early pregnancy. They evolve from the uterus and tubes. Hope this helps.
