Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Being On Nexplanon Due To Taking Cipro?

I've had the birth control implant nexplanon since August 2013.. I was diagnosed with a uti last week and given Cipro (250 mg BID) I took the last pill that Thursday, had unprotected sex Friday. I came down with a bad stomach bug Sunday and I've had cramps ever since. Is there any chance I could get pregnant? I've seen many articles that said cirpro is one antibiotic that doesn't affect it, so I'm just curious.

Hi there,
I have understood your concern.
I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.

1 ) First of all do not panic.

2 ) As you have already been on Implant contraceptive, you need not worry about the pregnancy.

3 ) A short course if antibiotics for 5 days will not lead to reduce efficacy of the implant and will not cause pregnancy .

4 ) To clear the dilemma about pregnancy, you can simply do urine pregnancy test or blood beta HCG test, 15 to 20 days after the last unprotected sex act.

I hope this answer helps you.
Thanks.
