Is Nausea Normal After Having Hysterectomy?

Is it normal to be nauseous 2 weeks out from a hysterectomy? I haven t really felt sick until now. I will be honest. I have picked up my 2 year old in the past 2 days. Nausea started after doing so. Have I messed something up? Should I go see my doctor?

Hi,

I understand your concern.

Nausea is present usually at very first days after hysterectomy. This is due to pain medicines used especially when narcotics have been used.

You say that it started after picking up your 2 year old in the past 2 days. If you are also having significant vaginal bleeding or discharge or persistent belching, I highly recommend to get back to your gynecologist for further evaluation.

Otherwise, stop picking your 2 year old up, have a balanced diet and increase fluids intake. If still persistent, then, get back to your gynecologist.

Wish fast recovery.
