Is Microgestin Effective?

I am currently on Loestrin 24fe, I plan to change to a lower hormonal pill. The doc recommends Microgestin 1/20fe. Is that a good switch? As with all oral contraceptives, I seem to have most of the symptoms. Sometimes, I don t know if it is the pills or was it me?

Hi,

Yes, it can be switched. For the first seven days of switch, use an extra method such as barrier method of contraception. Side effects are also similar and differs from person to person.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General and Family Physician
