Is Melatonin Recommended For Sleeplessness?

I am now 60 years old. I have had sleeping problems for approx. 7 years. Some nights are better than others but sometimes I can t even fall asleep. Other times I wake up after 2-5 hours and it is all over. Would you recommend Melatonin. I am becoming desperate. Sleeping tabs make me feel out of it . Thank you.

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your symptoms and desperation.

Melatonin is a good medicine for sleep disorders, especially conditions such as jet lag, night shift sleep disorder, etc.

In your case, I would recommend a combination of zolpidem and melatonin tablets for improving sleep quality and duration.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,
