Is It Safe To Take Fertigyn 10000 IU For IVF(In Vitro Fertilization)?
Hi, I am undergoing my ivf and my doctor had prescribed the fertigyn 10000 iu at 11 pm tonight, however i made a mistake and took it at 11 am in the morning, my egg retrival was supposed to be 36hrs after the fertigyl injection, would it effect my eggs or cause premature ovulation?
Usually Fertigyn containing beta human chorionic gonadotropin is given to trigger the ovulation. After giving the injection ovum is expected to release in 24 to 36 hours period. Usually the injection is advised when the ovum reaches around 2 centimetres size and endometrial thickness around 9 to 10 mm. Your doctor might have advised to take the injection during night maybe because of the maturity of your dominant follicle or maybe to plan the IVF at convenient time to you.
As you have taken the injection 12 hours before the time advised by your doctor better to inform this to your gynecologist so that they can plan the ovum retrieval accordingly. Usually that may not be any major problem with 12 hours difference but better to be careful can proceed according to your doctor's advice.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
