Is It Safe To Pierce Ears While Taking Pradaxa?
Can someone get their ears pierced while on Pradaxa? My Mother had her ears pierced years ago. She was in the hospital last year for a few months. Her old piercings (only 1 in each ear), had closed up. She would like to get her ears pierced again. She had a stroke 14 years ago, she was taking Coumedin, but her doctor recently changed her prescription to Pradaxa. She is 82.

Pradexa is a blood thinner and interferes with the clotting mechanism. If the ear is pierced while on it , there will be excess bleeding.
