Is It Safe To Have An Anti-rabies Shot Without Being Bitten?
Hello! im starting to get worry because last week when I finished washing my motorcycle, I was playing with my puppy (Siberian Husky) and later on I noticed some scratch on my finger,. i really don't an idea if I got that scratch from my pet or during motorcycle wash, my question is: is it safe to have an anti-rabies shot without being bitten or infected ? please send me some information on my email,. Hello, Unless your dog is sick you do not need to worry about a rabies shot. Rabies vaccines are a series of injection and you really do not want to take them unless you have to. It would be good in general for you to have a tetanus shot and for your dog to get the rabies vaccine. Rabies is usually transmitted through the bite of a rabid (very sick) dog, not through scratches from a puppy. Regards, K. Robinson MD
