Is It Normal To Have Red Splotches On Upper Leg After A Leg Injury?

I fell and scrapped my knee pretty badly, over the summer. It healed well. Ever since then, my lower leg, ankle, and foot are getting very swollen-even pitting edema, once. This edema does not happen when I walk, my normal, 3-5 miles/day. It only happens on the leg (left) with the knee injury (over the summer). Now, on my front left upper leg there's an area of red splotching (?mottling?)-big splotches. The skin over this area is dry and kind of rough. There is no pain. There was pretty bad pain, one day, in my left calf. I'd stretched my calf muscles, the day before the pain, pretty much, so, attributed the pain to this. I walked less because of this and the lower left became edematous, again.

Hi welcome to health care magic forum.
It appears that there is injury to the knee joint, and there is lot of oozing, which in turn may desend down, to the ankle, and cause the swelling.
When the ankle is kept high during sleep, the swelling comes down, and as you walk a lot, or stand for longer time you may have the swelling again. It may be lost in a few days.
I advise you to have more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts, and protein rich foods to prevent frequent swelling due to the hypo protinaemia, and anemia.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
