Is It Normal To Have Endometrial Thickness 4.7mm?
I have been diagnosed with endometrial thickness 4.7mm but not sure what this means. Can you please tell me whether there is anything I should be concerned about or whether this is normal. I am 53 years old age and my periods stopped 3 years ago and recently had excessive bleeding on and off.

Postmenopausal bleeding is a condition which should be definitely evaluated, sometimes that may indicate some serious underlying problem. Usually in postmenopausal women the endometrium will get atrophied and the thickness will be around 4 to 5 mm. According to your description, the endometrial thickness is normal, but as you are having a history of excessive bleeding better to get evaluated.
By clinical examination and undergoing investigations like Pap smear, endometrial biopsy, coagulation profile, reproductive hormonal profile, etc. The possible causes of your problem can be identified and treatment can be planned accordingly. So, please discuss these things with your gynecologist and proceed accordingly.
