Hi,
If there is persistence of irregularity in the cycles in spite of one or two courses of hormone, the IUD should be removed and an alternative choice of contraception is chosen. It is usual for cycles to get heavy or irregular during the early months after insertion but not for so log. So, please contemplate removal of the loop with your consultant. Also, please get your blood counts, hormonal profile and urinalysis along with a trans-vaginal sonogram. Hope you find this information useful. Take care.
