Is Hip Joint Replacement Surgery Necessary For Walking Pains?

i am Kuldeep and had been operated for my spine suregery for slip disc (L4, l5 and S1) in Jan 2008, it went well for one year and after that there are some minor problem for walking and pain. since now it was difficult to walk in last one week, i went thru MRI for Spine and hip joints,. Ortopedic doctor advised hip joint repalcment surgery, but i am not willing to go for this, is there any way out, please advice.
