Is Drooping Of Mouth A Common Symptom After Getting Shingles?

I have had shingles for aprox 2 weeks. I have been given medications and the rash and swelling on my face have almost disappeared. My lips are a little chapped still but my concern is my left side of my mouth is drooping down. Is this a normal part of shingles or should I be concerned?

hello,

It seems you suffered from ramsay hunt syndrome which has facial palsy as one of the consequence which lead to drooping of mouth on one side of your face.

I would suggest you to start physical exercise for your facial muscle to regain previous strength. Also, I would suggest you to start combination of methylcobalamin and gabapentin for initial 3 months to regain nerve strength

Thanks

Dr Jyoti Gupta
