Is Continued Cramps And Bleeding After Taking Medroxyprogesterone Normal?
Hi im takin MEDROXYPROGESTERONE 10 MG TABLETS but i took them like 3 weeks ago i have my period for 9 days now i had severe cramps and breast were sensative for 2 weeks straight and now it has calmed down a bit but now when i urinate i noticed blood clots comin out i thought it was still my period cuz of the minor cramps i still have Should i be worried??
Hi, I have gone through your question. Medroxyprogesterone is progesterone given to regulate the menstrual cycle. When taken for longer than a week, it can cause side effects like breast engorgement and pain, heaviness in the lower abdomen and cramps in uterus before and during withdrawal periods. Bleeding can be a bit prolonged due to the effect of hormonal withdrawal from the body. I would suggest you to wait for 7-10 days after stopping the drug, if you are still having bleeding then do consult an OBGYN specialist to get properly examined, investigated and treated accordingly.
