Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I had a severe acute pancreatis attack due to gallstone and had my gallbladder removed. I am recovering now but have started burping again especially between meals, about 1-2 hours after eating or even drinking water
. I just want to know if this is normal ???
As per our clinical experience of surgery branch, a certain amount of burping and indigestion is normal during early postoperative recovery of gall bladder removal as the body is adjusting with the state in the absence of the gall bladder. If persistent even after consuming proton pump inhibitors and maintaining dietary measures must visit your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
