Is Antibiotics Required Following The Removal Of A Catheter Due To AUR From BPH ?

Goodday, The doctor forgot to prescribe antibiotics following the removal of a catheter due to AUR from BPH. You can imagine the following events. I would like to read about the procedure of inserting a catheter and the important part of including antobiotics following the removal. Thank you.

Hello,

It can be decided case wise by the doctor.If all precautions were taken while catheter removal and if patient doesnt have predisposition for infection like in cases of diabetes then there is no need of antibiotic cover after catheter removal.Also antibiotics can prescribed as need if symptoms of infection develop.Regards
