Welcome to healthcaremagic.

Norgest is a similar to the hormone progesterone. estrogen and progesterone act together to form an ovarian follicle that produces a single ovum or female ovum. If level of any one hormone is more, the cycle gets disrupted and ovary will not get stimulated to produce an ovum. Progesterone, suppresses the process of formation of this follicle. In other words it suppresses growth processes in the ovary.

This is the principle behind using norgest. Continuous use of these drugs produces a state similar to pregnancy, that is a high progesterone environment in the body. This keeps the ovary suppressed.

Now regarding the efficacy of the treatment. It is difficult to predict the efficacy. If the cysts are simple cysts like follicular or luteal cysts they may respond while others may not. There is no noninvasive method to say that these are follicular cysts.

I suggest that you try it for 3 months as the cyst is small and may regress. The side effects are mostly nausea and vomiting and gastrointestinal upset that are quiet common.

Use for 3-4 months does not produce any serious side effects.

Hope this satisfies your query.
