hi, my 13 year old has a ganglian cyst about 5cm in size. he does not have pain with it except for extreme bending. the orthopedic dr. want to do mri because of the size. he doesn't think it is from the tendons. so, my question is...what is the purpose of mri if his plan of action is to just "wait it out" saying that the cyst would probably come back anyway?
Hi, dear I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. You may have ganglioncyst. MRI is required to know the exact origin of your cyst, whether it arise from tendon or outside the tendon. Go for it. Then you should take tratment accordingly.
