Is Lysine Recommended In The Treatment Of Congestive Heart Failure And Heart Enlargement?
I AM SUFFERING FROM CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE FOR THE SECOND TIME IN THE PAST 10 YEARS. MY HEART IS ENLARGED. I WAS ABLE TO SHRINK MY HEART THE FIRST TIME AROUND AND RAISE MY HEART FUNCTION FROM 20% TO 45% THROUGH DIET AND EXERCISE. I WILL BE GOING SOON FOR ANOTHER ANGIOGRAM TO DETERMINE IF MY MINOR BLOCKAGES HAVE WORSENED. I AM DETERMINED TO BEAT THIS DREADED DISEASE BY TAKING 2000 MG OF CALCIUM AND 1300 MG OF LYSINE. I BELIEVE LINUS PAULING RECOMMENDED THIS TREATMENT. I WILL BE DISCUSSING THIS TREATMENT WITH MY CARDIOLOGIST, BUT I SUSPECT SHE WILL CALL IT A SNAKE OIL TREATMENT BECAUSE NO DRUG WAS INVOLVED. I AM A WALKING DRUG STORE AND WOULD LIKE TO REDUCE MY MEDICATIONS. CAN THIS CALCIUM/LYSINE COMBINATION MAKE MY HEART PROBLEMS WORSE?

LYSINE is an essential amino acid in human nutrition and can not be produced in human body.It has been used in treatment and prevention of cold sores,herpes infection,for increased absorption of calcium,reducing anxiety etc,however it's use as treament for heart failure is very much doubtful and hence I advise you to rely more on medications being provided by your cardiologist rather on LYSINE.
