Intermittent dizziness, chest pain, confusions, blood test showed high cholesterol, on anti-vertigo and b12 medicines. Advice?

Hi doctor. 2 weeks ago I was really really dizzy, and went to the ER. The neurologist said every result came good. And he put me on anti vertigo pills and some b12. Dizzy has been on and off. Last week I did a blood test, cholestrol was 270. And now I m having chest pain and confusions so I did and ECG at the ER and it ok.

Hi Alahme,

Dizziness or vertigo has many causes. Common are :-

1. Cervical spondylitis

2. Disturbance in the fluid present in the ears

3. Neurological problem

4. Abnormal blod pressure

5. Low blood sugar

6. Some cardiac diseases
7. Benign Positional Vertigo

You can get yourself examined accordingly.

You cholesterol level is raised. You should use refined oil like Refined Sunflower/ Safflower/Soyabeanoil in making your food. Also do daily physical exercise and restrict oil rich foods.

Please have yo complete Lipid Profile done as only cholesterol level is not sufficient.

My advice will be to have following blood investigations done:

1. Complete Lipid Profile

2. Complete Thyroid Profile

I hope this is helpful to you. Thanks.
