Injured Foot With Swelling. Loss Of Sensitivity In The Toe. Could There Be A Nerve Damage?

Approximately two weeks ago, I dropped a wooden palatte on my right foot. It hurt badly but I was able to over come the pain almost immediately. Starting the day after I noticed slight swelling I the toes. The greatest side effect however was my loss of sensitivity in my right index toe. The swelling has gone down. There was never any ruining and my other toes are fine. I haven't been able to regain my sense of touch on that index toe though. Could it be nerve damage? Broken? Sprained?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hallo dear friend, thanks for writing to HCM
I am Dr vaibhav Gandhi, I am orthopedic surgeon
I have studied your case.

you should take Xray foot to see for any fracture
hair line fracture can lead to pain without swelling
yes there must be some nerve injury which lead to numbness

Here are my suggestions to you:
give rest to toe
do cold fomentation

Take care
