Infant Had Double Dose Of Polio Vaccine. What Are The Side Effects?
Hi my 4 month old niece received her routine shots this morning which included a polio vaccine . Later on today her doctor called my brother and informed him that they accidentally gave her a double dose. They mentioned it was not an active vaccine but to monitor her for fever and give her baby tylenol . I want to know what are the side effects of a double dose. My brother & sister in law are very upset.

Oral polio vaccine OPV is live ,and injectable vaccine IPV is attenuated.
Usually there are not much reported any accidents as Many times routine polio and pulse polio are recommended at a time like given with in one or two day gap.
Occasionally wild polio virus cause polio disease , Incidence is very very rare.
