If Breast Is Disfigured After Surgery And Radiation, Is It Possible For Reconstruction ?

Hi, I have high grade DCIS and have had a lumpectomy but none of my margins were clear, so now my surgeon is going in again for a second lumpectomy using breast reduction technique. My question is, if my breast is quite disfigured after the surgery and radiation, is it still possible to get reconstruction? Thanks.

There are two type of breast reconstruction procedures are available. Either with the help of back muscles or with plastic implants. Your breast shape can be reconstructed. You can take opinion from a plastic surgeon. One more advice, never force your surgeon for it as some time surgeons try to preserve breast and chances of cancer recurrence increases.
