Milk production usually takes a couple of days to start adequately.Consult your doctor about getting some medicines to enhance the production of lactation.Nutritious diet and a good exercise is necessary for lactation. Some prescription drugs like domperidone are often used for increasing lactation.

I have an doubt whether pumping will increase milk production. Please help me out doctor.

OBGYN Dr. Rhea Chanda's  Response
Pumping will not increase the milk production. You should have the lactim for at least a month and if it doesnt work then talk to your doctor about switching over. You can store the extra milk after your baby has stopped feeding. You can use a breast pump also but dont stop breast feeding completely.

I suggest that wait for your doctor's prescription about this.Even though it may take some time, its safer since he knows your history and has examined him.
