Hypothyroidism, Insomnia. Taking Synthroid, Benedryl, Coumadin, Zetia. Is This Contraindicated?

My father is being treated for hypothyroidism with synthroid . He has also been experiencing insomnia for some time now and has been medicating this occassionally with benedryl (which has been helping him sleep through the night). Is this contraindicated? He also takes coumadin, zetia and pravastatin. Thanks for your help!
