Hypoglycemic Child, Falls Into Deep Sleep. Hard To Wake Up. What Is Happening ?
hi good evening, my son is 8 years old and he has has the 3 hour sugar test and we found out that he has hypoglicimia and we have changed his diet accordingly but whenever he is is school and sitting for long periods of time hes falls into a deep sleep and it is hard to wake him up and then he does not know or remember going to sleep. what is happening or is it something else? because when he is home he never has any problem because he is always able to move around but in school falls in a deep sleep, not all the time but enough that the teacher is concerned
Try and encourage him to take his routine diet on time as this will prevent episodes of hypoglycemia and in normal healthy children, hypoglycemia is uncommon.
Sleep during school may be lack or insufficient or disturbed sleep during the last night.
It is not looking like a fit or seizure episode, but looks like a daytime nap.
Observe for his night time sleep whether he is sleeping for adequate duration.
And consult the pediatrician to look for the causes of his hypoglycemic episode.
