How To Treat Pain On The Left Tonsils And White Spots On The Roof Of Mouth?

I came off of a weeks worth of antibiotics for what the doctor thought was the start on tonsillitis on Wednesday. my tonsils weren t at all swollen, just very painful to swallow and had white spots on the roof of my mouth. I ve been fine until today when only my left tonsil is in severe pain. When I looked into my mouth my tonsil looks like it s burst open, with yellowness around it. The whole roof of my mouth is a pale white and I m struggling to swallow without it being painful. I also have pain under my jaw in what seems to be my glands, but they aren t swollen at all. I also threw up this morning but I don t know if that s unrelated because I got very very hot before hand from wearing a jumper in the sun.

Hello,
You may have a combination of infections. Return to your doctor for additional diagnostic tests. Did you have a culture taken for a definitive diagnosis? You wil most likely need anothe round of a different or stronger antibiotic. If you have the flu or a viral cause, then decreasing your discomfort with Antiinflammitory medication may be your course of treatment. Take your temperature and keep well hydrated. In addition, fungal infections can occur with antibiotics. The prescription Nystatin may be prescribed to treat your oral symptoms. Take acidopholus and probiotics to help decrease chances of fungal infections.
Thank you for your inquiry.
