Hi welcome to HCM. Thanks for posting your query.
I read your problem and have understood it clearly.
As a surgeon I've seen many such cases. I want to tell you that, you need not worry.
It's a very common problem, the hemorrhoids.
And during pregnancy, it's even more common. Generally, it subsides after pregnancy but for few individuals, it continues to be troublesome.
The crack that you mentioned may be a fissure!?
Look, there are few basic things to be followed in such bottom cases.
1. Avoid straining at any cost for passing stools
2. Drink lots of water.
3. High fiber fruits and vegetables in diet is a must
4. Avoid excessive consumption of meat, this causes constipation

So after understanding this. The crack you told may well could be a fissure which will be painful and itchy at times.
By the way you are saying, the thing you apply is working good, so continue with it.
Basically, any gel which contains lignocaine to be used.
If itching is too much then take tablet cetrizine 10mg at night time daily for 7 days. You should be fine.
And most importantly, be positive and everything will be fine.
Hope this helps you. Take care..
